This tornado hit thirteen stats:
Alabama, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia—saw twisters.
This tornado did lots of damage. Over 300 people died and over 5,000 got hurt. At one point their were 5 twisters at the same time. most of the damage touched down in Xenia, Ohio

More than 1,300 homes and
were destroyed.
Nearly half
of the town's population of 25,000 were left homeless.
